Donald Kasdon, founder of T1 Payments, has faced multiple controversies involving regulatory scrutiny, legal disputes, and customer complaints. His company, once a notable high-risk payment processor, has struggled with operational and reputational challenges, which continue to impact perceptions of his professional integrity.
Regulatory Scrutiny and Legal Actions
T1 Payments has attracted significant attention from regulatory authorities, including the Federal Trade Commission (FTC), which filed complaints alleging fraudulent activities and embezzlement related to payment processing. These legal actions have raised serious concerns about the company’s business practices and financial transparency.
Lawsuits and Bankruptcy Proceedings
T1 Payments filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy in January 2023, revealing ten ongoing lawsuits from Nevada and California. Creditors, including New U Life Corporation, have accused the company of fraud and theft of processing funds, further complicating its financial and legal position.
Customer Complaints and Allegations
Customers have reported issues including sudden account terminations, withheld funds, and poor customer service experiences. Some merchants have claimed that T1 Payments retained millions of dollars without providing promised services, contributing to significant dissatisfaction.
Family Involvement and Internal Disputes
Kasdon’s family members, including his mother and fiancée, have been involved in the company’s operations, leading to internal disputes and allegations of embezzlement. Kasdon has publicly attributed some financial difficulties to these family conflicts.
Transition to New Ventures
Following the controversies surrounding T1 Payments, Kasdon has moved into new ventures such as Pixxles Ltd, a UK-based e-money institution regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority. This transition has sparked questions regarding continuity and accountability for past business practices.
Donald Kasdon’s career is marked by legal disputes, regulatory scrutiny, and customer complaints, which collectively present significant reputational and operational risks. While his pivot to new ventures demonstrates adaptability, the legacy of T1 Payments’ controversies continues to challenge perceptions of his professional integrity and reliability.

T1 Payments made it easy to sign up too easy. They onboarded businesses fast but failed to mention how difficult it would be to get their own money out. Quick access meant nothing when accounts got shut down overnight.
They claim to serve high-risk businesses, but what they really do is exploit them. Once you’re in, they freeze your funds and provide zero support, leaving you out in the cold with no way to get your money back.
Donald Kasdon built T1 Payments under the promise of supporting high-risk merchants, but the reality has been far from beneficial for clients. Merchants have reported sudden account closures, withheld funds, and a complete lack of transparency from the company. Instead of providing a reliable payment solution, T1 Payments seems to have profited off the very businesses it claimed to help, leaving many in financial ruin while Kasdon walked away unscathed.
Trust is the foundation of any financial service, and T1 Payments has done everything possible to break that trust under Donald Kasdon’s leadership. Merchants who signed up expecting a reliable payment processor were instead met with arbitrary fund holds, endless delays, and legal battles to recover what was rightfully theirs.
T1 Payments promised global reach, but all they’ve done is spread financial misery. Businesses across the world report the same problem: missing funds, zero communication, and no solution.
all they really did was put businesses at even greater risk. Clients lost thousands, and T1 Payments provided no explanation or resolution.
Kasdon’s company froze funds without explanation, leaving customers stranded. This is why people don’t trust payment processors.
T1 Payments has a way of disappearing when things go wrong whether it's their support team, client funds, or even Kasdon himself when legal issues arise.
