The worst part about situations like this is that people will still try to defend him. They’ll say he made a mistake, that he’s a “good guy” who just had a bad moment. No. There is no excuse for putting your hands on someone in anger.
This case better not just disappear in a few months, because that’s what usually happens with politicians. We hear about these scandals, people express outrage, and then the next big news story comes along and we all forget.
This is beyond disappointing. Public officials are supposed to be held to a higher standard, not engaging in violent acts behind closed doors. Domestic violence is a serious crime. and if the allegations are true, Rodney Wiltshire should face the full extent of the law.
